Traditional RoK culture on show in Viet Nam

A traditional art performance by artists from the Republic of Korea takes place in Ho Chi Minh City on July 3 and Hanoi on July 6 to celebrate the 22nd anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Viet Nam and Korea.

Jointly organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea and the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Viet Nam, the show “Korea Fantasy – Sound, Dance and Performance” will be performed by artists of Chungnam Gugak Korea Traditional Music Orchestra from Cheonan City. Founded in 1990 and now one of the RoK’sleading orchestras, Chungnam Gugak performances are highly creative, with various elements aimed at developing and bringing youthful audiences closer to traditional music and culture.

During their performances in Viet Nam, artists will present various traditional Korean artistic genres, such as traditional string instruments, concerts and traditional dance.

“Traditional culture is the foundation of the country’s development. Through this programme, I hope that Vietnamese audiences will further understand Korean traditional culture, thus contributing to promoting sustainable relations between the two countries,” said RoK Ambassador to Viet Nam, Jun Dae Joo.

The shows will take place at 7.30 pm on July 3 at Ben Thanh Theatre, Ho Chi Minh City and July 6 at Au Co Art Centre, No. 8, Huynh Thuc Khang, Hanoi.
