Update: Jul 24, 2014
Da Nang city has entered a cooperation agreement with two central provinces Quang Binh and Quang Nam in a bid to boost tourism in the region, the Da Nang Today online reported.

Under the agreement, signed last weekend by leaders of the departments of culture, sports and tourism, the three localities in the central region will focus on sharing their information on the development of tourism, as well as implementing tourism promotion programmes in their localities and advertising tourism activities for their partners.

In addition, special attention will be paid to developing their own special tourism products, and appealing for more investment into their localities.

The purpose is to further promote the development of tourism in the three localities in order to reach their sustainability development, as well as build their tourism brand names, and improve their competitiveness.

At the event, discussions focused on assessing strengths and weaknesses relating to the development of tourism in the three localities. Their tourism potentials and cooperative opportunities were also introduced at the event.

Mutual support will be increased to build effective strategies to advertise tourism images of the three localities, as well as promote their tourism brand names as attractive destinations.

Top priority will also be on developing their own special tourism products to meet the diversified demands of domestic and international tourists.

Da Nang is home to an international airport with eight domestic routes and 20 international ones, an international seaport which welcomes 700,000 arrivals each year, and 337 accommodation facilities, including 10 five-star and nine four-star hotels and resorts.

Quang Nam boasts must-see destinations such as Hoi An, the world cultural heritage site of My Son sanctuary and the World Biosphere Reserve of Cu Lao Cham, while cave tourism has recently turned Quang Binh into a hot spot for visitors from around the world.
