(TITC) - On 15 July 2014, in Ha Noi, VNAT’s General Director Nguyen Van Tuan had a meeting with Indian Ambassador to Viet Nam, Ms. Preeti Saran.
At the meeting, the Indian Ambassador affirmed the warm traditional relationship and cultural similarities between Viet Nam and India. Especially, Indian Government and people greatly admired the Vietnamese people’s spirit of struggle for the independence and freedom of country.
Regarding tourism field, she pointed out some key factors which hold back cooperation between the two sides, including weak promotional activities and lack of direct flights.
She suggested that VNAT should collaborate with Indian famous film studios and media agencies to make films introducing Viet Nam’s image to Indian audience.
Speaking at the meeting, General Director Nguyen Van Tuan appreciated the Indian Ambassador’s kind support and hoped to receive the Embassy’s assistance in organising famtrips and presstrips for Indian film crews and media agencies to Viet Nam, coordinating to hold meetings between tourism businesses of the two countries. He also suggested the Embassy to help Vietnamese tourism businesses on researching Indian tourists’ demands and tastes so that they are able to offer best services.
VNAT will propose Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to work with Vietnam Airlines on opening direct flights between Viet Nam and India, which would significantly facilitate bilateral tourist exchange.
