A collection of 55 lacquer, oil and silk paintings and sculptures are being showcased by the Indochina College of Fine Arts at an exhibition on Viet Nam’s sovereignty over sea and islands which opened in Hanoi on July 22.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, sculptor Phan Van Tien, Director of Viet Nam Fine Arts Museum said the event aims to highlight the nation’s pride, patriotism, and the spirit of independence and self-reliance of each citizen, and call on support from international friends who have raised their voice to safeguard Viet Nam’s sovereignty.
The artworks feature fishermen’s daily lives at sea and islands and images of soldiers ready to safeguard the homeland’s sovereignty.
The event runs through July 29.
