VNAT organizes caravan program on EWEC

(TITC) - Implementing National Action Plan on Tourism 2014, from 4th to 16th December 2014, Viet Nam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) organizes the caravan program to survey tourist sites and routes; and promote tourism along East – West Economic Corridor (EWEC).

The program aims to develop tourism products by land, especially the caravan tours to connect destinations on EWEC through four Mekong subregion countries, including Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Viet Nam.

Deputy Director General of VNAT Ngo Hoai Chung leads the survey delegation of 35 members who are representatives of international tour operators specializing in caravan tours, tourism transportation enterprises in the North, Central, South regions, press, televisions and the sponsor – Bank for Investment and Development of Viet Nam (BIDV). The program will also receive the active support of Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) at the survey and work in Chiangmai, Thailand.

On the morning of 5th December, the survey delegation gathered in Pho Chau Town (Ha Tinh Province) to enter Laos via Cau Treo Border Gate with the participation of Ha Tinh Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Tourism Association; and tourism enterprises in Ha Tinh Province.

During the caravan program, VNAT will organize the survey of main tourist sites and routes along EWEC of four Mekong subregion countries; and tourism promotion programs such as Viet Nam – Laos Tourism Meeting in Vientiane (Laos); Chiangmai International Travel Mart (Thailand); collaborating with Embassy of Vietnam in Myanmar, Vietnam Airlines and BIDV to organize the 2nd Viet Nam tourism roadshow in Yangon (Myanmar).
