(TITC) - From 12 to 20 September 2015, in Nghia Lo Town and districts of Mu Cang Chai, Van Chan, Tram Tau (Yen Bai Provinve), People’s Committee of Yen Bai Province will organize the Week of Culture and Tourism 2015 in western area of Yen Bai Province with many exciting activities.
This is a chance to honor and promote national intangible cultural heritage of xoe dance of Thai people in Muong Lo - Nghia Lo and national landscape of Mu Cang Chai terraced fields recognized by Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and cultural values of ethnic minorities in Yen Bai Province, whereby raising conservation and promotion awareness of historical relic sites associated with tourism development. The event also aims to promote tourism in districts and town in the western area of Yen Bai Province; create the linkages in tourism development cooperation in 8 Northwestern provinces.
Accordingly, from 12 to 16 September 2015, Muong Lo Week of Culture, Sports and Tourism will take place in Nghia Lo Town with many ebullient activities such as opening ceremony and honor ceremony of 6 xoe dances of Thai people; cuisine, trade – tourism fair 2015; cuisine contest “Muong Lo Taste”; buffalo fighting; Han Khuong festival; seminar on tourism development cooperation; groundbreaking ceremony of Nghia Lo Garment Factory…
Then, from 17 to 20 September 2015, Mu Cang Chai District will organize National Landscape Mu Cang Chai’s Week of Culture - Tourism 2015 with the theme “Golden season in mountain”. The program includes main activities such as: opening ceremony; highland market day; trade-tourism fair; paragliding; eco-tourism, community-based tourism; films and photo exhibition “Mu Cang Chai – Golden stairs”. Especially, in this year, Mu Cang Chai will organize more 3 new activities as goat fighting, contest of Mong khen and seminar on the ancient rock ground in Lao Chai Commune and propaganda of new cave in Nam Khat Commune.
During the Week of Culture and Tourism 2015 in western area of Yen Bai Province, Van Chan and Tram Tau districts will jointly organize the activities such as the festival of grinding green rice flakes and introduction of dances of Kho Mu people; at the same time participate in the booths in the cuisine fair in Nghia Lo Town.
The western area of Yen Bai Province includes Nghia Lo Town and districts of Mu Cang Chai, Van Chan and Tram Tau. The area has not only the impressive nature scenery but also the culture imbued with identity of 13 ethnic groups and many unique historical - cultural relic sites.
To the western area of Yen Bai Province, visitors will have the opportunity to admire Muong Lo Field (Nghia Lo Town) – the 2nd largest field in Northwest region; terraced rice fields in 3 communes of La Pan Tan, Che Cu Nha and Ze Xu Phinh (Mu Cang Chai District) and visit national historical relic sites of Cang and Nghia Lo Military Post, Uncle Ho's stilt-house, Thai ethnic villages, falls and caves… Visitors will be able to attend many unique festivals as Xen ban xen muong, Han khuong, Long tong… In particular, visitors can not miss the chance to enjoy 6 xoe dances of Thai people.
