At the end of 2024, these two craft villages were officially recognised as members of the Global Network of Creative Craft Cities, making them the first traditional craft villages in Vietnam to be approved for membership in this prestigious network.

Bat Trang and Van Phuc are the 67th and 68th craft villages to receive this recognition worldwide, with Vietnam becoming the 28th country with a craft village acknowledged as a global handicraft village.

This achievement strengthens Ha Noi's position on the world cultural map while providing an opportunity for craft villages to enhance their competitiveness, preserve traditional values, expand markets, promote international cultural exchanges, and drive sustainable development.

On the occasion of the ceremony, Ha Noi will host various exhibition spaces featuring Van Phuc silk, Bat Trang ceramics, silk and ceramic works by international artisans, as well as cultural spaces dedicated to tea, cuisine, and OCOP products. There will also be live demonstrations with the creation of handicrafts by both local and international artisans, aiming to foster cultural exchange and promote the image of Ha Noi to domestic and international audiences.

Additionally, a series of vibrant artistic performances will be held from February 14 to 16 to celebrate the Party’s founding, the Lunar New Year, and the nation's renewal.
