(TITC) – In the framework of the 21st session of the UNWTO General Assembly meeting from September 12 – 17, 2015 in Medellin, Colombia, on September 15, Chairman of Viet Nam National Administration of Tourism, Mr. Nguyen Van Tuan and Minister of Trade, Industry and Tourism of Colombia, Mr. Cecilia Álvarez-Correa signed memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the field of tourism between Viet Nam and Colombia.
Accordingly, to increase the flow of tourists between two countries, the two parties shall promote initiatives for tourism development; encourage exchange of experts, exchange of information and participation in tourism fairs organized by the parties.
The two parties shall encourage the development of bilateral tourism cooperation in the areas: environmental tourism, eco-tourism, eventual tourism, medical tourism, rural and agro-tourism, cultural tourism, group tourism, tourism and peace.
The two parties shall promote technical cooperation, exchange of experiences and good practices, statistics and information materials concerning tourism resources, current legislation regulating tourism activities and tourism research.
The two parties shall promote training and information programs for tourism experts of both countries.
The two parties also shall encourage cooperation in private enterprise on tourism in each country.
