(TITC) – On 7 October 2015, Tuan Chau Group held inauguration ceremony of the International Port (Port 2) after 3 years of construction.
Tuan Chau International Port as well as surrounding constructions was invested by Tuan Chau Group from 2012 with total cost of over 10,000 billion VND. The Port has a capacity to receive 2,000 ships at the same time on an area of 200ha, nearly 7km long, and 10 - 17m deep.
Being built in a windless place, close to the national waterway and some attractions on Ha Long Bay, Cat Ba Island, it is convenient for ships operation. Furthermore, many adjacent works including amusement parks, complex park, golf course, accommodations, restaurants, super markets and representative offices of shipping companies, logistic system providing freshwater and fuel for ships have also been constructed synchronously.
The Ministry of Transport has permitted Tuan Chau Port to receive foreign ships of up to 100 meters long, waterline of 5.5m at the south and southeast wharfs of Tuan Chau Island since 1 October 2015.
Currently, there have been approximately 50 shipping companies with more than 200 ships registering to operate in Tuan Chau Port.
