Tourist arrivals in Da Nang up 20% during holiday
Update: Apr 19, 2016
Nearly 70,000 holiday-makers flocked to the central city of Da Nang during the Hung Kings commemoration holiday from April 16-18, marking a 20% growth year-on-year, according to the municipal Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Of the figure, 23,500 were international visitors.

Tran Chi Cuong, Deputy Director of the department, said most foreign tourists hailed from the Republic of Korea (RoK), China and Japan while domestic travellers to Da Nang mostly came from Ha Noi and Ho Chi Minh City.

From April 14-17, the national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines offered discounts for flights between April 14 and October 31, including the Da Nang - Hai Phong, Ho Chi Minh City - Da Nang and Ha Noi - Da Nang routes.

To meet increasing travel demand during the summer, the low-cost Vietjet also offered 5,000 additional flights and launched a golden week promotion "It's 12, Let's Vietjet!" lasting from March 28-April 3 with 2 million tickets priced from VND0, applicable to all domestic flights from April 1 - December 31 (excluding holidays).
