Festival celebrating Korean culture to open in Ha Noi
Update: Nov 25, 2016
The 2016 Korean Cultural Festival will take place at the Ha Noi Labour Friendship Palace on November 25 and 26 as an event to mark the 10th founding anniversary of the Korean Cultural Centre (2006-2016).

The opening ceremony will feature performances by K-Tigers Taekwondo troupe

The opening ceremony will include performances from the K-Tigers Taekwondo troupe, who are famous for their aerobatic stunts and outstanding techniques against a musical background of popular songs, as well as performances of Korean folk melodies and K-pop music performed by Korean artists.

The second day of the festival, taking place from 1am to 5pm, will invite visitors to try-on Korean traditional hanbok costumes, learn Korean language, and taste the country’s signature dishes such as kimbap (seaweed rice rolls) and topokki (spicy rice cake).

Vietnamese artists will share the stage with their Korean colleagues to delight audiences with exciting songs and dances at a closing ceremony scheduled for 6.30 pm the same day.

The Korean Cultural Centre (KCC) in Viet Nam was established in November 28, 2006 with a mission to connect peoples from the two countries through exchange activities in culture (fine arts, arts performance, cinema), tourism, and sports.

According to the centre’s director Lee Dae Joong, the KCC will continue serving as a bridge bringing the two peoples closer not only for the next ten years but also for many more years to come. As the festival is designed to provide an opportunity for participants to explore the Korean land, people culture, he expressed hope that the event would help reinforce the cultural interaction between the two countries.
