Arriving in the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong on a sunny day, I dropped by Linh Quy Phap An Pagoda, which is described as the heaven gate thanks to its heavenly and peaceful landscapes.
A picturesque view from the yard of Linh Quy Phap An Pagoda
Linh Quy Phap An is on a small hill in Loc Thanh Commune in Bao Lam District, around 20 kilometers from Bao Loc City. It took us just 30 minutes to reach the foot of the hill but the narrow path to the hilltop was tough to negotiate.
We had to rest halfway several times and thus had some time taking a look at the green tea fields and wild flowers on the way. Some of us felt tired because of the scorching sun. However, the pilgrimage was rewarding indeed as the site looks like a paradise.
The main shrine was simple and solemn with white large Buddha statues but the yard in front of the sanctuary really impressed me. Surrounded by ancient wood fencing and gates, the yard was where tourists could take breathtaking views of mountains, immense green forests and the blue sky.
All tiredness was gone. We took many pictures at the yard, talked to monks about the pagoda and listened to sweet sounds of big wind chimes in front of the main shrine. Some tourists fell in love with the peacefulness and stayed until the afternoon to attend a prayer ceremony.
Trekking is the best way to reach the pagoda as tourists can feel safe and enjoy landscapes. For those who are afraid of the uphill path, taking a motorbike taxi is recommended.
