Pink grass hill adds new winter highlight to Moc Chau tourism
Update: Jan 13, 2026
In recent years, the pink grass hill in Lun hamlet, Muong Sang commune, Son La province has gradually emerged as a new highlight on the tourism map of Vietnam’s Northwest region.

Viewed from above, the pink grass hill resembles a pale pink velvet carpet spread softly across the Moc Chau hillside.

Each winter, the soft pink grass blanketing Moc Chau’s hillsides attracts crowds of visitors drawn to the region's unique natural scenery.

Spanning 1.5 hectares, this U.S.-native grass variety was cultivated by locals as a tourist attraction. Now in its second year, the grass grows in slender clumps that, during peak season, drape the hills in a delicate pink mist. Entry is priced at VND 30,000 per person.

This grass species originates from the United States and features a blush pink color.

Winter offers the best viewing experience as the cool weather complements the landscape. Set against a deep green mountain backdrop, the sweeping pink tones create a peaceful, captivating scene unique to the plateau.

The site is a haven for photographers, especially in the early morning when dew adds a shimmering, misty glow to the slopes. Its open space also suits picnics and family outings. From here, visitors can easily explore nearby landmarks like Dai Yem Waterfall, Bach Long Glass Bridge, and Ban Ang Pine Forest, further enriching their Moc Chau experience.
