Update: Dec 05, 2017
Grilled lemongrass skewered beef is a typical dish of people in the South region of Viet Nam. The dish does not have an appealing look but no one can forget its wonderful taste.

The cuisine of the South region of Viet Nam is diverse in both cooking methods and ingredients. The locals often attach much important to maintaining the original taste of the raw ingredients when cooking. And grilled lemongrass skewered beef is one of such dishes that keep authentic aromas of its ingredients.

The recipe for the dish is simple with only a few ingredients, including beef, pork belly fat and lemongrass. First, in a large bowl, combine the finely chopped beef and tiny sliced pork belly  and seasonings. With wet hands, divide the mixture into equal portions and roll each portion into a sausage shape and then skewer sausages onto each lemongrass stalk. Finally, heat a pan and cook the skewers, turning every few minutes until the meat becomes golden brown and has a smoky aroma. Served hot with lettuce leaf and dipping sauce.
