A programme entitled ‘Exploring Vietnamese Tet (Lunar New Year) festival’ will take place at the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology in Ha Noi on January 25.
Under the programme, visitors will have an opportunity to learn more about the cultural practices of Vietnamese people during Tet, their biggest traditional holiday of the year, by taking part in various activities, including making chung (square) cake, trying calligraphy, and making Dong Ho folk paintings.
They can also join exciting folk games of the Tay, Thai, San Chay, H’Mong and Dao ethnic groups, such as jumping, con (cloth ball) throwing, and walking on stilts.
The programme is held annually by the museum with each year dedicated to the culture and traditional of a specific locality or country.
The event has attracted great interest and enthusiast participation from city residents and visitors, particularly children.
