Da Nang has approved the hosting the Routes Asia 2022 Development Forum

The Da Nang Department of Tourism has been assigned by the city to coordinate with Duy Anh Trading Joint Stock Company (IPP Travel Retail) in organising the Routes Asia 2022 Development Forum, which is expected to take place in June 2022.
The Da Nang City Department of Tourism organised a tourism-airline cooperation programme on January 17 along with the promotion of flight routes to Da Nang, aiming to provide the tourism and aviation partners of Da Nang tourism with a plan towards opening international routes in 2022 with current aviation support policies.
In order to promote tourism recovery routes to Da Nang, despite being affected by Covid-19, Da Nang International Airport has devised plans to upgrade and invest in the airport.
Accordingly, the expansion of the apron to the north is expected to be completed by February 21, 2022; the building of a new cargo terminal with a capacity of 100,000-150 thousand tons/year is expected to be completed and put into operation in 2024; and the expansion of passenger terminal T1 to the south to reach 14 million passengers/year is expected to be completed and put into operation in 2025.
In addition, Da Nang International Airport also has policies to support airlines to open routes to Da Nang, especially by reducing air service unit prices by 10-50% for airlines operating international flights as well as providing free office rental for airlines.
Speaking at the event, Vice Chairman of Da Nang City People's Committee Tran Phuoc Son emphasised the importance of aviation-tourism cooperation in successfully launching international routes, creating a trade bridge to restore the main economy sector of the city.
In the immediate future, Da Nang City has assigned the Department of Tourism to assume the prime responsibility, coordinate with other sectors, and request the sectors to coordinate and support the Department of Tourism to successfully organise the event of the Routes Asia 2022 Development Forum, while at the same time deploying flight promotion activities, thus contributing to the city's socio-economic recovery.
It is expected that the Routes Asia 2022 Development Forum, which is scheduled to take place from June 6-8, 2022, will attracted more than 500 delegates from 110 airlines and 30 travel agencies and will host more than 1,000 meetings.
This is not only an event to restart international aviation exchanges in Da Nang but is also expected to make a significant contribution to the city's socio-economic development in the next 3 years.
