(TITC)- In order to implement the National Tourism Promotion Programme, Viet Nam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) participated in 20th Moscow International Travel and Tourism Exhibition (MITT 2013) from 20 - 23 March, 2013. The delegation was led by Mr. Nguyen Quoc Hung, Deputy General Director of VNAT.
MITT is the Russia's leading and largest travel exhibition held annually in Moscow. The event is rightly known among the tourism community as one that shapes the global calendar of travel events. Held since 1994, MITT has become the main and most representative forum for the travel professionals of Russia and Eastern Europe.
MITT 2013 occupied an area of 56,688 m2 with 8 exhibition halls. Viet Nam Booth is on Pavilion Forum, at the same place with countries of Asia, Africa, America, and Oceania.
MITT 2013 attracted the participation of 3,000 companies from 197 destinations and more than 80,000 trade visitors and tourists.
In the MITT 2013, the Viet Nam delegation participated in many activities and received high appreciation of the MITT's organizating board and international partners.
Viet Nam Booth
Viet Nam Booth covered the area of 70m2 with 3 open sides and 12 tables. There were 14 businesses joined Viet Nam Booth including tourist operators, travel agents, 4-5 star hotels, resorts and Vietnam Airlines. All the photos on display were chosen from a tourism photo contest showing Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Sa Pa, Ha Long, Hue, Citadel of the Ho Dynasty, Hoi An, My Son Sanctuary, Ninh Thuan sand dune, Nha Trang beach, Vung Tau beach, Trang An Eco-tourism Complex, Red River Delta...
In the exhibition, representatives of Viet Nam Embassy in Russia and tourist companies, media agencies considered that the Viet Nam booth was impressive, modern and easy to recognize.
Organizing tourism promotion programme and introducing new air routes of Vietnam Airlines
Attending the programme were major Russian travel agents, Russian airlines, media agencies.
In the event, the participants also exchanged information, raised questions about tourism and aviation policies; airfares, flight frequency... VNAT hoped that Russian companies continue to cooperate on bringing Russian tourists to Viet Nam.
Organizing seminar in Viet Nam Booth
The seminar drew the participation of about 100 visitors including Ambassador Pham Xuan Son, Viet Nam - Russian Friendship Association, Viet Nam enterprises, travel agencies, tour operators, and airlines of Russian bringing tourists to Viet Nam and media agencies.
Speaking at the seminar, Ambassador Pham Xuan Son expressed his interest and willing to support VNAT and tourist companies for studying Russian market.
At the Exhibition, VNAT was honoured to receive Certificate for the Professionalism and Tourism Promotion Activities in Russia.
Russia is an important source market of Viet Nam tourism. In 2012, total of Russia tourists to Viet Nam were about 174 thousand arrivals, (up 71.6% over 2011).
In the coming time, Viet Nam and Russia will sign tourism cooperation agreement; Vietnam Airlines will open Nha Trang - Moscow direct flight in May 2013, facilitating the flow of Russian and Europe tourists to Viet Nam.
