Cuisine fair kicks off Vietnam-Japan friendship year

A Japanese cuisine fair opened in Tokyo Town restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City on April 23, kick-starting the Vietnam-Japan 2013 Friendship Year.

The fair aims to create more opportunities for Vietnamese people to know about appetising and excellent-in-quality Japanese dishes.

 

During the five-day event, visitors will be stunned by unique recipes. They will also be introduced to the plentiful ingredients Japanese people use in cooking and taste different dishes. Japanese chefs will perform techniques used only in Japanese cuisine.

 

Addressing the opening ceremony, Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam Tanizaki praised the important and good relationship between the two countries.

 

He said it is the sound foundation of mutual admiration and fondness of the two countries' peoples that contributes to the auspicious development of Vietnam-Japan relations.

 

Deputy Director of the municipal Cultural, Sports and Tourism Department La Quoc Khanh expressed admiration for the talents of Japanese cooks and cuisine, saying that the event will strengthen the solid friendship and co-operation between the two countries.
