The Soc Trang People's Committee has issued a plan to organize the first official Ghe Ngo boat race festival of Khmer people in Mekong River Delta - Soc Trang from November 14 to 17, 2013.
Under the plan, the festival will include the main contents of the opening ceremony titled "Moon and Rice", the closing ceremony, a trade fair, a gastronomy festival - Soc Trang delicious dishes, a scientific workshop, folk games, and a photo exhibition.
In addition, the event will have numerous cultural and sport activities representing national character such as Ooc-om-boc festival and a statue garden of Khmer culture.
Together with teams in the Mekong River Delta, the organising board will invite teams from Cambodia, Thailand, Laos, and Myanmar to the ghe ngo boat race.
