Special activities during Sa Pa Streets Festival 2013

The Sa Pa Streets Festival 2013, themed "Colourful Sa Pa", will be held on November 1, in Sa Pa town, the northern province of Lao Cai.

 

The event is part of a series of activities to celebrate the 110th anniversary of Sa Pa tourism.

 

The festival will feature the performance of 450 artisans, actors and actresses from the Lao Cai Culture, Art and Tourism Vocational School and the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

 

Decorated cars will parade through the major streets in Sa Pa town and will stop at Thac Son - Xuan Vien crossroads, Thach Son - Kim Dong turning point, Kim Dong - Ngu Chi Son turning point and Xuan Vien - Ngu Chi Son turning point, to perform specific arts of Sa Pa people, mountain and forest.

 

The Festival aims to enhance tourism promotion towards sustainable development, attract more tourists to Sa Pa and honour local intangible cultural heritages, contributing to teaching the tradition and preserving national cultural character.
