The Khanh Hoa provincial tourism sector is preparing to welcome tourists during the Lunar New Year (Tet) 2014 with the expectation of greeting about 154,000 tourist arrivals, including 35,000 foreigners.
Together with investing billions of VND in light and flower decoration on major roads to Nha Trang city, Khanh Hoa plans numerous cultural and art programmes to serve tourists, such as performing folk songs, human chess competitions, lion dances, spring flower festivals and caravan festivals.
Accommodation centers, hotels and restaurants in the province built recreation, art and gastronomy art programs, and added more tourist products to bring tourists the typical culture traits of Vietnam’s Tet holiday.
According to statistics of three to five-star hotels in the province, room capacity will reach 85-95 percent during Tet. In addition, the Khanh Hoa provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism forecast about 650,000 tourist arrivals will visit destinations in the province.
In January 2014, Khanh Hoa province welcomed more than 225,000 tourist arrivals, a 29 percent rise over a year earlier, including 73,000 foreigners.
The province received over 3 million tourists arrivals in 2013, in which 724,000 were foreigners.
