Ho Chi Minh city received 1.16 million foreign tourist arrivals in the first quarter this year, a year-on-year rise of 10 percent, and 26 percent of the year’s plan, according to the city People’s Committee.
This figure included 924,000 arrivals visiting the city by air, up 10 percent.
In the first three months this year, total turnover from accommodation services, restaurant and travel reached more than VND22 trillion, an 11.7 percent rise over a year previous.
Over the past time, the city intensified tourism promotion activities such as developing river tourism products, the Ho Chi Minh city – 100 interesting things programme, and tourism-oriented art programmes to attract more foreign tourists.
