Royal documents of Nguyen Dynasty recognised as documentary heritage

The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) on May 14 officially recognised official documents of the Nguyen Dynasty as a world documentary heritage, according to the State Records and Archives Department.

The decision was approved at the second session of the sixth plenary meeting of the World Regional Committee for the Asia-Pacific (MOWCAP) which was held in Guangzhou, China on May 14.

Representatives from the State Records and Archives Department said that MOWCAP’s experts spoke highly of the unique influence documents exerted in the world and region during the Nguyen feudal dynasty.

The documents of the Nguyen dynasty are the fourth documentary heritage of Viet Nam which has been recognised by UNESCO.
