Ethnology museum earns TripAdvisor certificate for three consecutive times
Update: May 23, 2014
The Viet Nam Museum of Ethnology has received a Certificate of Excellence from TripAdvisor.com, the world’s largest travel website, the Museum’s Director Vo Quang Trong said on May 21.

This is the third time the museum has been granted the certificate, he said.

To earn the paper, a destination must attain an overall rating of 4 points and over, which is based on reviews and ratings from millions of travellers using the website over the past 12 months.

With this year’s rating of 4.5 points, the same level as 2012 and 2013, the museum has been named one of Hanoi ’s most attractive destinations.

Since early 2014, the museum has welcomed 200,000 visitor arrivals, of which 40 percent were from abroad.

Established in 1997, it has served as a research centre and a public museum with a mission to collect, document, preserve and exhibit the cultural heritages of Viet Nam ’s 54 ethnic groups.

The museum is preserving over 29,000 exhibits, including around 25,000 on Vietnamese ethnic communities that reflect every aspect of their tangible and intangible culture, fuelling national solidarity and pride, while raising awareness of equality between ethnic groups.
