VNAT to launch tourism marketing program in Moscow and St. Petersburg

(TITC)- In the framework of Viet Nam Culture Days in Russia, Viet Nam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) will launch tourism marketing promotion program in Moscow and St. Petersburg cities.

The program will take place from 24th June -1st July 2014 with many activities aiming to introduce new destinations and tourist products of Viet Nam, policies to encourage Russian tour operators sending tourists to Viet Nam. The event will also be a platform for Vietnamese and Russian tourism businesses to meet, exchange and seek business opportunities.

Accordingly, the VNAT will promote activities including trade meeting, Viet Nam tourism presentation, traditional art performance which are expected to lure a large number of tourists from this source market.

Recently, tourism cooperation between Viet Nam and Russia has been strengthened significantly, contributing to the development of Viet Nam economy as well as the relationship between the two countries. In the last 5 years (2009 - 2013), the growth of Russian visitors to Viet Nam reached 45.7% a year.

In 2013, Russian visitors to Viet Nam increased 71% over the year of 2012, reaching 298,126 arrivals. During the first 4 month of 2014, Viet Nam welcomed 155,092 Russian arrivals, increasing 37.41% over the same period last year. Presently, Russia is one of top ten source markets of Viet Nam tourism.
