Belarus Cultural Days to be held in Viet Nam

Belarus Cultural Days in Viet Nam are scheduled to be held from November 3–7, according an announcement from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

As part of the event, the Republic of Belarus’ National art troupe Pesnyary and the State Academic I.Zhynovich Folk Instruments Orchestra, will perform in Ha Noi on November 4 and Hai Phong on November 5, promising to offer a series of special performances deeply imbued with Belarussian style.

Established in 1930 by guitarist Vladimir Mulyavin, Pesnyary was a popular Belarusian folk rock band. One of the band’s official descendants is the Belarussian State Ensemble Pesnyary comprising of young talented musicians.

The band often uses lyrics from famous Russian and Belorussian poets of the past. Among their best known song are "Kasiu Jas Kaniushynu", "Belovezhskaya Pushcha", "Belorussiya" and "Alesia".

The State Academic I.Zhynovich Folk Instruments Orchestra, established in 1930, was named among the oldest professional musical groups of the Republic of Belarus. It provided the foundation for the development of professional music performances using folk instruments in the country.

The repertoire of the Orchestra consists of more than two thousand pieces of Belarusian folk songs and dances, original works of Belarusian composers, Russian and foreign classical compositions, and contemporary music. For 70 years, the leading Belarusian composers of older and younger generations have been collaborating with the Orchestra.
