After the severe consequences from the COVID-19 pandemic, the need to quickly recover the tourism industry is one of the most pressing issues posed in the world in general and in Vietnam in particular. Among the solutions that have been implemented to revive the "smokeless industry", promoting technology platforms to develop smart tourism is considered an effective solution.
The Hanoi Department of Tourism and the Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group’s Hanoi branch (VNPT Hanoi) have worked together to carry out a smart tourism project with a view to promoting the capital city’s non-smoke industry.
Smart tourism is being applied in a number of tourist attractions in Ha Noi such as Bat Trang ceramic village, Thang Long imperial citadel, Van Mieu-Quoc Tu Giam (Temple of Literature - National University) and Ha Noi Old Quarter.
Over 200 delegates from 27 member cities of the Tourism Promotion Organization for Asian-Pacific Cities (TPO) gathered in Ho Chi Minh City for the 8th TPO forum themed “Smart tourism” which opened on June 21.
The 8th Tourism Promotion Organization for Asian-Pacific Cities (TPO) Forum will take place in Ho Chi Minh City on June 21-22, said the municipal Department of Tourism on June 15.
