Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Ngoc Thien has stressed the need to develop a set of travel safety standards to develop the tourism sector, which has suffered since the outbreak of the acute respiratory disease caused by a novel coronavirus (Covid-19).
(TITC) - In the last 3 years, the number of international visitors to Viet Nam nearly doubled, from 7.9 million arrivals in 2015 to 15.5 million arrivals in 2018, recording an average annual growth rate of 25 percent. UNWTO ranked Viet Nam among the fastest tourism-growing destinations in the world.
The number of tourists visiting the northern coastal province of Quang Ninh in the first nine months of this year is estimated to top 10 million, an increase of 25 percent over the same period last year, according to the local Department of Tourism.
(TITC) - In the first quarter of 2017, the tourism sector received over 3.2 million int’l arrivals, increasing 29% over the same period last year; serving 22.2 million domestic trippers; reaching VND131,900 billion of tourism receipt.
The northern mountainous province of Tuyen Quang is preparing to hold a conference on investment, trade and tourism promotion in an effort to attract investment in the local tourism sector.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism approved a tourism marketing strategy until 2020 including a marketing roadmap on October 23.
(TITC) – According to the General Statistics Office, international visitors to Viet Nam in July estimated 564,736 arrivals (up 4.6% over last month) which added to the total number of 4,852,621 in the first 7 months of 2014 (up 15.6% over the same period last year).
One of the relatively important solutions to developing the Viet Nam tourism sector in the current period is to shift its direction, emphasizing a preference for boosting high-spending markets.
The tourism industry will this year actively attend fairs and promotion programs overseas as well as organize trips to Vietnam for international reporters to introduce tourism and create business ties between local and foreign companies.
