The World Travel Awards recognition highlights the exceptional appeal of Vietnam’s extensive heritage system, which includes 9 UNESCO World Natural and Cultural Heritage sites, 15 Intangible Cultural Heritage elements, 10 Documentary Heritage items, along with a broad network of national historical and cultural relics. Together, they form a powerful foundation that positions Vietnam among Asia’s most heritage-rich countries.
The World’s Leading Heritage Destination 2025 title also reaffirms Vietnam’s commitment to preserving and promoting heritage values in tandem with sustainable tourism development. The harmony between natural landscapes, cultural depth and vibrant community traditions has shaped a distinct identity that consistently captivates international travelers. This achievement further motivates localities to invest in tourism infrastructure, improve service quality and strengthen the national tourism brand “Vietnam - Timeless Charm” on the global stage.

Beyond national recognition, several Vietnamese local destinations were also praised at this year’s awards. The UNESCO Global Geopark Dong Van Karst Plateau earned its first-ever title as the World's Leading Regional Cultural Destination, celebrating the unique geological landscape and rich cultural heritage of the northern highlands. Moc Chau was named the World's Leading Regional Nature Destination for the third time, underscoring the enduring allure of its lush plateaus, temperate climate and pristine scenery. Tam Dao secured its fourth win as the World’s Leading Town Destination, thanks to its misty landscapes and charming French architectural heritage. Meanwhile, Phu Quoc - Vietnam’s “Pearl Island” - achieved its fourth consecutive award as the World’s Leading Nature Island Destination, reaffirming its status as one of Asia’s most enchanting luxury retreats.
These consecutive accolades over the years demonstrate the timeless appeal and competitive strength of Vietnam’s destinations. They also reflect the unwavering efforts of local authorities to protect natural and cultural assets, innovate tourism products and elevate service standards. The growing global recognition contributes to a diverse, distinctive and highly competitive tourism network that continues to spotlight Vietnam at major international award platforms.

In addition, many Vietnamese travel, aviation and hospitality businesses were honored in different prestigious categories, marking a year of comprehensive advancement for the industry.
