Da Nang affirms position as premier beach resort destination
Update: Mar 06, 2026
Blessed with a long and scenic coastline, Da Nang holds a special advantage for developing a continuous coastal tourism corridor stretching from Son Tra to Chu Lai. Based on this foundation, coastal resort tourism continues to be one of the city’s core and highly competitive products.

Enhancing destination’s appeal

According to statistics from the municipal Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the city currently has 107 four- and five-star hotels, placing it among the leading localities nationwide in terms of high-end accommodation facilities. Of these, 49 are five-star hotels offering a total of 15,020 rooms, while 58 are four-star properties with 7,709 rooms.

Many world renowned brands are present in Da Nang, such as InterContinental Da Nang Sun Peninsula Resort, Hilton Danang, Hyatt Regency Danang Resort & Spa, Wyndham Danang Golden Bay, Sheraton Grand Danang Resort, and Four Seasons Resort The Nam Hai.

Numerous investors are also developing new tourism products aligned with emerging trends such as wellness retreats, multi-generational family vacations, fine dining experiences, wedding services, and MICE activities at resorts. These products help extend visitors’ length of stay and increase tourism spending.

In early 2026, several resorts in the city continued to receive prestigious regional and international awards. Meanwhile, the growing presence of global hotel brands, together with the expansion of international air routes and increased frequency of domestic flights, has further strengthened Da Nang’s position as one of the region’s leading seaside resort hubs.

Increasing competitiveness

According to Mr. Nguyen Duc Quynh, Vice Chairman of the Da Nang Tourism Association and Chairman of the Da Nang Hotel Association, maintaining the city’s leading position requires resorts to continue investing in in-depth product development. This includes focusing on distinctive “Da Nang-style” experiences, increasing personalization, and creating clear differentiation from other destinations.

At the same time, priority should be given to professional workforce training, not only in professional skills but also in management capacity, foreign languages, digital transformation, marketing, and revenue management. High-quality human resources remain a key factor in ensuring sustainable competitiveness in the service industry.

“As an important gateway in central Vietnam, Da Nang continues to strengthen its role as a regional connectivity hub. Integrated tourism routes linking heritage sites, islands, and beach resorts, along with a professional and safe tourism environment, contribute significantly to enhancing the destination’s competitiveness” Mr. Quynh emphasized.

He also stressed the need for the city to invest in high-quality tourism products such as beach resorts, wedding tourism, MICE, and golf tourism in the coming time.

Also, he suggested the city expand promotion in potential international markets, diversify visitor sources to reduce seasonal dependence, and strengthen linkages among travel agencies, airlines, and accommodation providers to develop comprehensive tourism packages.
