Accordingly, Khanh Hoa Department of Tourism, a specialized agency of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee, helps the provincial People's Committees to implement State management functions; provides public services under the jurisdiction of the Department and performs a number of tasks and powers as assigned by the provincial People's Committee and Chairman of the provincial People's Committee.

The department has 01 director, 02 deputy directors, 4 functional divisions (Office, Inspectorate, Travel Management, Management of accommodation establishments) and one subordinate unit (Tourism Promotion Information Center).

Located in the South Central, this coastal province is endowed with various well-known bays, such as Cam Ranh, Van Phong and Nha Trang. Therefore, Khanh Hoa can take advantage of the potentials to develop marine economy, especially sea and island tourism. The province has more than 610 accommodation establishments with 20,000 rooms, of which rooms from 3-5 stars are more than 10,600.

In 2015, Khanh Hoa attracted about 4.1 million tourist arrivals, increasing by 16% over 2014, of which international tourist arrivals were 974,000. Tourism receipts reached VND 7,000 billion, up 16.8% over last year. In 2016, Khanh Hoa strives to welcome 4.5 million tourist arrivals.
