Tuyen Quang province to preserve Bau Citadel
Update: Jun 24, 2016
A temple dedicated to Bau Lords has been inaugurated as the Tuyen Quang province People’s Committee preserves Bau Citadel, a national relic site.

Construction of the temple started in 2015 and was funded by individuals and organisations.

The citadel was built between 1730 and 1770 and is located in Tan Thanh Village. It is associated with two brothers, Vu Van Uyen and Vu Van Mat, who protected the country from spiraling into a civil war between Le and Mac factions. They were dubbed 'Bau Lords’.

Bau Citadel is very important in researching Vietnamese national history and in educating young people about patriotic and military tradition. It is also an attractive tourist destination.
