Ca tru introduced to tourists to Quang Binh
Update: Aug 31, 2016
Tourists can now enjoy ca tru (ceremonial singing) as part of the Chay River - Dark Cave tour in the central province of Quang Binh.

The Phong Nha - Ke Bang Tourism Centre co-operated with the Ca Tru Dong Duong Club of Quang Trach district to introduce the unique art form on Saturdays and Sundays to tourists.

Ca tru is an ancient genre of chamber music featuring female vocalists, with origins in northern Viet Nam in the 15th century. It was inscribed on the list of Intangible Cultural Heritage in need of Urgent Safeguarding in 2009.

After discovering Dark Cave, tourists will enjoy ca tru performance in an ancient house with traditional architecture, where local delicacies will be served.
