The ‘Ha Noi - Essence of Traditional Crafts’ festival will be held at Thang Long Royal Citadel on September 29.
In addition to showcasing tourist products from Ha Noi’s traditional craft villages, the four-day festival will also introduce visitors to Hanoian cuisine.
Exhibitions and seminars on developing tourism activities in Viet Nam’s craft villages will also be organised during the event, featuring the participation of tourist businesses, craft artisans and craftsmen.
Visitors can try their hand at making traditional craft products or take part in folk games.
The festival is held by the Ha Noi city Department of Tourism to preserve and develop traditional trade villages in Ha Noi in particular and in the country in general.
It is also designed to provide an opportunity for travel agencies to connect with trade villagers to ink co-operative deals and promote local tourism potential.
According to statistics from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Ha Noi is home to more than 1,000 craft villages, 300 of which are recognised as traditional villages.
The city has undertaken a number of measures to promote traditional craft products in tandem with development tourism.
