The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will coordinate with the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) to organize an international meeting on tourism and sports on September 24th, at Novotel hotel, in the central coastal city of Da Nang.
The event is part of the 2016 operation program of UNWTO hosted by Viet Nam on the occasion of the 5th Asian Beach Games (ABG5).
The meeting will focus on exchanging and discussing three main contents; including tourism development orientation in combination with sporting activities, mutual relations between tourism and sports as well as contributions of tourism and sports to sustainable development; opinion, approach and experiences to develop sporting tourism; and promotion of sporting tourism products such as golf, adventure, climbing, and sea tourism.
It will be attended by the Secretary General and senior officials of UNWTO, leaders of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and about 300 delegates who are leaders of national tourism organizations, sporting officials of countries, sport and tourism associations, tourism enterprises, airlines, investors and lecturers from the UK, Spain, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Thailand, Malaysia and Viet Nam.
A statement on tourism and sports for sustainable tourism will be adopted at the meeting.
It is an official document of UNWTO with the aim of luring the attention of governments, destinations and enterprises in creating policies and attracting investment to speed up tourism and sporting development for the benefit of people, community and sustainable development.
