(TITC) - According to the General Statistics Office, international visitors to Viet Nam in October estimated 812,017 arrivals, slightly decreasing 0.1% compared to the previous month and increasing 23.2% over the same period last year.
Of the total, visitors by air reached 668,136 arrivals, accounting for 82.3%; by sea: 10,318 and by road: 133,563, accounting for 1.3% and 16.4%, respectively.
In the first ten months of this year, Viet Nam received 8,077,397 international arrivals, increasing 25.4% over the same period last year. Of which, there were 6,777,084 arrivals by air, up 31.1%; 121,549 arrivals by sea, down 14.9%; and 1,178,764 arrivals by road, up 4.6%.
Most of markets recorded positive growth in comparison with the same period of 2015 including: Hong Kong (+72.5%), China (+55.2%), the Republic of Korea (+40.1%), New Zealand (+35.0%), Thailand (+30.8%), Italy (+30.3%), Spain (+27.3%), Russia (+27.1%), Holland (+24.2%), Sweden (+22.3%), England (+21.7%), Germany (+18.5%), Laos (+18%), Taiwan (+15.9%), Malaysia (+15.6%), USA (+14.2%), France (+13.3%), Japan (+10.8%)...
The number of domestic trippers in ten months estimated 53.3 million; total tourism receipts reached VND 331,500 billion, up 19.1% over the same period last year.
