During three days of Lam Kinh Festival 25,000 participants visited the relic,
contributing to raising the number of tourists to Thanh Hoa in the first nine
months this year to more than 2.12 million, reaching 93 percent of the yearly
target, a 21.3 percent year on year.
Tourists mainly came to the Pu Luong nature Conservation Area, the Cam Luong
fish Stream, the Ho Citadel national cultural heritage relic, and Sam Son Beach.
Mr. Nguyen Van Dai, Chairman of Travel Office under the Thanh Department
of Culture, Sport and Tourism said that Thanh Hoa greeted more than 2.1 million
tourists, especially an increasing number of tourists in September thanks to Lam
Kinh Festival 2008. Tourism turnover reached an estimated VND 689 billion in
September, 97 percent of the year target, a 35 percent year on year.
However, also in the first nine months this year, the number of foreign
tourists to the province only made up 0.9 percent. Impacts of world economic
crisis, domestic natural disasters and diseases and limited infrastructure
system affected this result.
