The Gia Lai Week of Culture, Cuisine and Horserace 2017 opened at the Trade Exhibition Centre in Pleiku City, the Central Highlands province of Gia Lai on March 22.

Visitors to the event, the first of its kind, will have a chance to enjoy specialties from three regions of the country and the Central Highlands provinces.
One of the highlights of the week is an open horserace with the participation of 48 racers from six localities, namely Phu Yen, Ninh Thuan, Khanh Hoa, Binh Dinh, Ho Chi Minh City and the host Gia Lai.
Musical performances and fire camps will also be held, helping visitors immerse themselves into the cultural life of local ethnic groups.
The event, which runs through March 27, aims to promote unique culture and history of the Central Highlands region to Vietnamese and foreigners.
