The festival brings together silk producers from seven Asian countries and 12 Vietnamese silk villages, including Van Phuc (Ha Noi), Nha Xa (Ha Nam Province), Tan Chau (An Giang Province), and Bao Loc (Lam Dong Province), among others.

Also in attendance at the event were nearly 80 silk and brocade artisans from ethnic groups across the country, including the northern province of Ha Giang, the southwest border region in An Giang province, the central region and from the west of Nghe An province.

The two-day festival features an incense offering ceremony to the Queen of silk Doan Quy Phi, an exhibition of silk products, a seminar discussing solutions to develop Vietnam’s silk industry, a fashion show of 18 silk collections, as well as performances introducing traditional weaving and dyeing techniques of the silk villagers.

An executive board of the Viet Nam Silk Association will make their debut on this occasion.

As a member of the International Silk Association, Hoi An silk village has a 300 year tradition of silk production and exportation. This is the third time the village has hosted the festival to honour the traditional trades of silk and brocade and introduce Vietnamese silk producers to the world market.
