Update: Aug 09, 2017
The ASEAN+3 Song Contest with the participation of 24 singers from ASEAN member countries will be held from August 17 - 21 at Sam Son FLC, Thanh Hoa Province.

Three Vietnamese singers participating in the contest are Thu Lan, Tien Manh from Radio the Voice of Viet Nam (VOV) and Kien Trung from the Young Theatre of Viet Nam.

The jury includes famous artists from ASEAN member countries, of whom there are two Vietnamese artists: composer Do Hong Quan, Chairman of the Vietnamese Musicians Association, and singer Nguyen Ngoc Anh.

The candidates will participate in the semi-final and final rounds on August 19 and 20.

In addition, the contest will be attended by singers from three guest countries of Japan, Republic of Korea (RoK) and China.

This is the first time VOV has organized such a music event play for young professional pop singers age 18-35 on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of ASEAN.

The contest is a venue for exchanges and cultural promotion among ASEAN member countries, as well as Japan, RoK and China, through music.

In a press conference introducing the contest on August 7th in Hanoi, Mr. Vu Hai, Deputy Director General of VOV, said that the contest was held on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of ASEAN and the 72nd anniversary of VOV.

This is an opportunity for young singers and the public from ASEAN member countries, as well as the three guest countries, to have cultural exchange, contributing to consolidating and tightening the friendship, cooperation and development among the nations.

The final round will be broadcast live on radio and television channels of VOV: VTC1, VTC3, VOVTV, VOV3 and VOV5.
