Festival of northwest tourism villages to run in Hoa Binh

A festival gathering 14 typical community-based tourism villages across the northwest region will take place in Hoa Binh province from October 6 to 8.

At a press conference on October 3, the Hoa Binh Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism released the list of the 14 participating villages, including those of Thai and Muong ethnic groups in Hoa Binh, and others in Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Phu Tho, Dien Bien, Lai Chau, Ha Giang, and Ha Noi.

The festival was said to feature a festival of traditional music and traditional ethnic costumes, a cooking contest, an exhibition of tourism products, and a photo exhibition on tourism in Hoa Binh and the extended Northwest region.

A seminar on sustainable development of northwest community-based tourism will also take place.

Bui Van Lam, head of the Hoa Binh Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism said preparations have almost completed, and stated that local authorities are committed to ensuring security and food safety for visitors during the festival.
