APEC High-Level Week 2017: Promoting cultural value of Da Nang

During the APEC High-Level Week taking place in Da Nang city, the municipal Department of Culture and Sports will focus on exploiting cultural values of the city to introduce widely to domestic and foreign tourists.

Accordingly, the special street dance program at Tran Hung Dao street will include team music performances and street art dance parade, especially it features music and special costumes of the 21 APEC member countries.

The special street music program, which will be performed on the sidewalk at No.144 Bach Dang street, will include diverse genres with performances of famous rock bands. Besides the exciting programs, visitors also have the opportunity to learn, experience the traditional art of Da Nang.

According to Mr. Tran Ngoc Tuan, Director of Nguyen Hien Dinh “Tuong” Theatre, besides paragon excerpts, the theatre will focus on investing in traditional dance and musical instruments, because this is an opportunity for international visitors to learn about the traditional arts of Viet Nam.

In addition, the Da Nang Museum will organize a traditional trade village festival 2017, representing trade villages of Quang Nam and Da Nang, such as fine art stone, wood carving, bronze casting, mat weaving and drum production, at the museum.

Moreover, after a period of upgrading and restoration with an investment of VND45 billion, Da Nang Museum of Cham Sculpture promises to be an attractive destination for visitors.

Mr. Huynh Van Hung, Director of the city Department of Culture and Sports, said that Da Nang Museum of Cham Sculpture is one of unique cultural works to introduce to international friends attending the APEC High-Level Week.

The Department of Culture and Sports also coordinates with the Department of Construction to implement the APEC Park in the city.
