World Food Festival lures huge crowd

Huge numbers of local and international tourists late last week rushed to Hoa Lu Stadium at the corner of Nguyen Thi Minh Khai and Dinh Tien Hoang streets in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City to immerse themselves in the jubilant and bustling atmosphere of the Five Continents Food Festival – World Food 2017.

The four-day festival attracts a huge crowd of local youths and foreign tourists

The four-day festival which was held for the first time in the city from October 5 to 8 featured more than 150 food stalls of nearly 170 domestic and foreign enterprises at the 10,000-square-meter venue.

Gastronomers grasped a valuable chance to get an insight into the exotic cuisines of different countries around the globe, savor a variety of delicious Asian and Western dishes aside from watching cooking shows, bartender performances and enjoying music performances. Those embracing a passionate love for the diverse culinary cultures of the five continents took advantage of this occasion to meet up and talk with experienced chefs from different countries around the world.

Notably, the festival served as a special occasion for local and foreign enterprises to promote their products and services and sound out business opportunities.

One of the highlights of the event was the “Happy Meals” program, offering meals with an aim to share difficulties with poor residents in HCMC and neighboring provinces.
