Total tourist arrivals to Quang Ninh reached an estimated 2.6 million in the first two months of 2018, a year-on-year rise of 22%, according to the provincial Department of Tourism.

Of this, international arrivals were 857,000, an 18% increase over a year earlier. Total tourism revenue amounted to VND4.2 trillion, up 25%.
The number of tourists to Ha Long bay alone posted 746,000, up 27%, of which 656,000 were foreign travellers, up 31%.
February coincides with the Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday, thus Quang Ninh saw a sharp increase in number of tourists with nearly 2 million, including 498,000 international arrivals, grossing a revenue of more than VND3 trillion.
March is the peak month for the festive season, when the number of tourists to the north-eastern province continues to increase. The tourism sector will further coordinate with localities and functional agencies to inspect, monitor tourism activities and improve the quality of tourism services to extend time of staying and expenditure of tourists.
