The number of tourists to Da Nang reached an estimated 658,000 arrivals in March 2018, raising the figure for the first three months of the year to over 1.69 million, a year-on-year rise of 34.7% or 22.6% of the year’s plan, reported the city Department of Tourism.

Of this, foreign arrivals were over 819,000, up 58.9% compared to the same period last year.
Total tourism turnover in the first quarter was estimated at VND5.583 trillion, up 58.7% over a year earlier or 26% of the year’s plan.
In the quarter, the Department submitted the detailed content of the 2018 tourism development plan, An Thuong Tourism area project in Ngu Hanh Son district, and the management and exploitation plan for Nguyen Tat Thanh sea route during the 2018-2020 period, to the city People’s Committee for approval.
In addition, it also issued a plan to develop inland waterway tourism in 2018, a plan to manage and adjust travel business activities in 2018 and implement a plan to improve the competitiveness of tour operators during the 2018-2020 period.
