Update: May 28, 2018
Under the 2018 Da Nang - Summer Rendezvous programme which will run from 16 to 20 June, a wide range of fascinating cultural and sporting activities will be held at the East Sea Park, the beaches, the Son Tra Peninsula, and along both banks of the Han River.

Exciting activities held at the East Sea Park are: the opening ceremony of the event (in the morning of 16 June), a flashmob bikini performance (16 June), a street carnival (in the evening of 16 June), a musical show (every evening from 17-20 June), the Fun Beach Musical Festival (in the afternoon of 17 June), a folk games festival (from 17-20 June), and a bartending competition (19 June).

From 16 - 20 June, a photo exhibition featuring beautiful images of the city’s tourism, food and beer festivals, a kite festival, the decoration and arrangement of coracles, along with stalls selling souvenirs and introducing the city’s tourism stimulus programmes, will also be held at the park.

In particular, free cinema event in the open air at the beach in the park, the first of its kind in Viet Nam, which is scheduled to take place on 18 June, is considered to be the most inviting activity at this year’s Summer Rendezvous programme.

Locals and visitors will be treated to the free-of-charged screenings of fascinating films featuring the allure of Viet Nam’s beaches and its landscapes.

These will include Hollywood blockbuster ‘Kong: Skull Island’, ‘Cu Va Chim Se Se’ (Owl and the Sparrow), and ‘Doi Cuu Ho Bai Bien’ (Beach Rescue Team).

The screenings will start at 6.00pm and end at 11.00pm on 18 June.

Another interesting activity is the International Yoga Day, which will be held on the My Khe Beach in the morning of 19 June.

During this event, the participants will have a chance to attend yoga classes taught by internationally trained yoga instructors from India between 5.30am and 8.30am on 20 June.

Also as another part of the Summer Renezvous programme, the paragliding race will be organised on 16 and 17 June.

Under the contest’s rule, participating professional and amateur fliers from the city and other localities nationwide will race from the top of the Ban Co (Chessboard) Peak to land on the Man Thai Beach in Son Tra District.

Meanwhile, fascinating street music performances will take place at the Han River banks from 18-20 June. Also, a coracle competition and a sand sculpture contest will be organised on the Pham Van Dong Beach on 29 June.

Alongside the ongoing Da Nang International Fireworks Festival 2018, the Da Nang - Summer Rendezvous programme is expected to make Da Nang an ideal choice for visitors from both home and abroad during the summer vacation, and this would affirm the seaside city’s stature as Viet Nam’s top destination for international events and festivals.

Furthermore, through the annual programme, the city’s beaches would become even more inviting to both locals and visitors, thereby helping to widely advertise the local beach tourism brand.
