Ninh Binh welcomes over 7.3 million visitors during 2018

The tourism sector of the northern province of Ninh Binh welcomed over 7.3 million visitors during 2018. This totalled a gross revenue of VND3.2 trillion, representing an increase of 19.2% on-year.

Major events in Ninh Binh during 2018 attracted millions of local and foreign visitors. The locality successfully organised a series of festivals such as the Hoa Lu festival, the Trang An festival, and Ninh Binh Tourism Week.

Additionally, tourist attractions throughout the locality are considered must-visit destinations for visitors, including the Trang An Landscape Complex, Bai Dinh pagoda, Tam Coc-Bich Dong, the Thung Nham bird garden, Van Long lagoon, and Phat Diem stone cathedral.

The Trang An Complex received the notable achievement of being recognized by UNESCO as a Cultural and Natural World Heritage Site back in 2014.

According to statistics, during the last month of 2018, Ninh Binh province received 337,862 visitors, up 1.8% on-year. The figure includes 261,729 domestic visitors and 76,133 foreign arrivals and totals an estimated revenue of over VND191 trillion, up 22.1% on-year.

In 2019, the locality aims to welcome a total of 7.5 million visitors, including 940,000 foreign tourists.
