The ancient beautiful city of Hoi An in the central province of Quang Nam has been ranked second among top ten most beautiful car-free cities in the world, which was announced by Australian Traveller magazine.

The magazine said that motorcycles rarely appear in Hoi An ancient city; therefore, visitors can wander on small streets, purchase silks or go to the tailor shops without being bothered by motorcyclists.
Hoi An used to be a busy international trading port during the 15th century and recognised by UNESCO as a world heritage.
The ancient city is impressive with architecture designed in the French French colonial period, colorful lanterns, houses and shops.

This is not the first time Hoi An has been mentioned in the rankings of prestigious international travel magazines and websites such as Tripadvisor, LonelyPlanet, and Travel&Leisure.
In the list of top ten car-free cities in the world, Hydra Island in Egypt ranked first and Rottnest Island in Western Australia.
