(TITC) - At 12:00 on November 20, 2021, Vietjet Air's VJ3749 flight with 202 Korean tourists from Incheon (Korea) landed at Phu Quoc International Airport, Kien Giang Province, Vietnam.
This is the first international tourist group from the Korean market to travel to Phu Quoc Island of Vietnam under the "vaccine passport" program in the new normal and will experience 4-day, 3-night vacation at Vinpearl Phu Quoc, with closed itinerary.
The delegation was solemnly welcomed by Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT), Vietjet Air, Kien Giang Provincial People's Committee and related units.

Mr. Kim Chang Ho - a member of the Korean tourist delegation said he was impressed with the warm welcome of Vietnam. He is very reassured when coming to Vietnam now when he completed 2 doses of vaccines and studied carefully measures to prevent pandemic and ensure safety for international tourists of Vietnam. He believes that he will have a comfortable and fun trip in Phu Quoc.

Congratulating the Kien Giang Province and Phu Quoc City, Vietjet Air, Vinpearl Jsc., and tourism businesses in Phu Quoc, VNAT's Chairman Nguyen Trung Khanh affirmed this event is an important restarting, marking a new step in the effort to revive the tourism industry, towards step-by-step opening up and economic development in the new normal.
The reception of international tourists is guaranteed to comply with the "5K message", meeting the requirements of Ministry of Health while ensuring the quality of services to affirm the tourist attractiveness of Vietnam in new normal, towards the message "Live fully in Phu Quoc, Live fully in Vietnam".
In order to effectively implement the pilot plan to welcome international tourists to Vietnam, Mr. Nguyen Trung Khanh suggested that the Kien Giang Provincial People's Committee closely follows the direction of the Government and the guidance of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. He also called tourism and aviation businesses to attract more international tourists, press agencies and media to accompany the tourism industry in its efforts to recover and develop.
Vietjet Air’s Standing Deputy General Director Dinh Viet Phuong said that Vietjet has resumed international flights after nearly 2 years of stagnation. After this event, Vietjet will bring hundreds of guests from Japan, Korea, Taiwan, etc. to Phu Quoc and other destinations in Vietnam. There are huge demand of international tourists to travel and tourism now. This is the first flight from Seoul to Phu Quoc, which opens up many opportunities for other potential markets.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Nguyen Luu Trung, Vice Chairman of Kien Giang Provincial People's Committee said that Kien Giang was supported by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, VNAT, and related ministries, thereby preparing the best conditions to welcome international tourists safely in accordance with regulations.
The event welcoming the first international tourist group to Phu Quoc opens new hopes for inbound market and investment potential in Phu Quoc City, the driving force to recovery of tourism.
