Tourists to the hilly resort city will surge on December 31 and January 1, 2022, Le Anh Kiet, head of the Culture and Information Department of Dalat City, said today, December 30.
Many visitors have been touring the city since Christmas Day, he added.
Hostels in the city will see room occupancy rates reach some 60% during the New Year holiday, while room occupancy rates at two-star hotels and villas for rent are expected to range from 85% to 90%. Three- to five-star hotels might be over 90% full.
On Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, some 30,000 people came to the city, the highest ever since the start in late April of the fourth wave of Covid infections.
This year has seen Dalat City receiving an estimated 1.97 million tourists, dipping by 45% year-on-year, including over 1.95 million domestic visitors and 17,000 international travelers, the local media reported.
As travelers to the city will rise in the coming time, the municipal government asked grassroots authorities to remain watchful as Covid still spreads. Residents and tourists are required to strictly follow Covid safety protocols.
